It's About Us... (but mostly you!)

What makes a successful  garden?  First, it's functional spaces.  Comfortable areas to sit and dine, ample play spaces, shade, shelter.  Next;  color, texture, movement,  places to draw the eye and places for the eye to rest.  For some, drawing wildlife and connection to the natural world is very important.    Sometimes, there are site challenges such as poor soil, wildlife that eats your roses, hot sun or deep shade.  Finally, practical concerns like maintenance and places for our pets are important as well.

I try to take all of these factors and create a beautiful space that will draw you outside and into your garden, to enjoy our wonderful California climate.  Every client is different, and my   solutions are customized to you.

We begin by getting to know each other and understanding your  desires and needs.     Next I  spend some time getting to know the site and understanding existing plants and conditions.  The design process is client driven - dependent on your needs.  We can proceed on a consultation basis;  providing sketches, plant suggestions and work with your garden staff.  If hardscape changes are needed, I  can provide design concept  and planting plans.  Lastly, I  can recommend and work  closely with a Contractor to make sure the garden is installed as intended.
